The Tamil sports movie Lubber Pandhu, directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, came out on September 20th. People really like the movie and critics are calling it a great sports drama. Besides having good direction, writing, and acting, the film is also getting attention because it has many references to the late actor Vijayakanth.

The director talked about this at a press conference held after the film made 3.5 crore rupees in just 3 days. He explained that he wanted to honor Vijayakanth in his very first movie. So, he included many references to the actor, spoken by the character played by Dinesh, who is a big fan of Vijayakanth.

Lubber Pandhu is Tamizharasan's first film as a director. Before this, he worked as the first assistant director on the film FIR and also wrote the dialogues for Nenjuku Needhi.

People were also excited to see actor Harish Kalyan in Lubber Pandhu. In an interview, Kalyan said he took the role because the movie is about sports and he hasn't played many village characters before. He liked that the story combined both those elements and focused on emotional conflicts between the main characters.

Even famous cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin praised Harish Kalyan's acting in a tweet. He said he enjoyed the movie a lot and that it shows how to make authentic films. He called it a real movie, unlike other Tamil films about cricket that stray from the main point.

Ashwin concluded the tweet by calling the director and the crew brilliant.
